What is it about love poetry?

For thousands of years, poets of all kinds have thrown their passions to the wind like so many roses and put their feelings into words – powerful, beautiful words filled with the light of their beloved and their own good intent. Even more remarkably, some of these poems survive. Like tiny stars in the night sky of human consciousness they become little pieces of our collective forever making true the magical ideal that real love is indeed eternal.

As a songwriter I love the idea that love itself lives on in the words we sing and say and write – that it spreads like a ripple throughout the universe, unstoppable and brilliant. Keep it coming human race. There can never be too much love.

Darkness Loves The Night

I love you like the darkness loves the night.

I love you like the stars hold silver light.

I love you like the sun is flame.

I love you like this kiss,

The first to ever truly touch my lips.

I love you like there’s nowhere left to fall.

I love you like we have no fear at all.

I love you like I always knew

I’d love you in this kiss,

The first, the last – forever on my lips.
